Activation Key for an OEM disc for use with another computer?
When i reinstalled using the same OS i chose clean installation on the same computer using the same product key. Everything works fine now but now it says i need to activate my product key because it says, "Product key already in use". I am at a lost what should I do.

Or did you re-use the activation key that you previously got from M$ ? There is an file which contains an encrypted signature of the hardware set up, but I can't remember the exact specifics. If this has already happened and you're not cosying up to some other hot set up you get to stay officially approved.

Online activation would fail and I had to call the phone activation. Hardware change? All I did was install a driver update for my hardware not change any hardware and the driver I tried to activate online, and the message tells me that the key is already in use, and that I need a new key. This is UNACCEPTABLE!

The silliest argument
A word of caution -- If you're using the Windows L&F, the enter key is already the key that will activate focused JButtons. In Metal (the default L&F) and perhaps others, Sun, to their discredit, decided to use the counterintuitive spacebar to activate focused JButtons.

So already they've created a class of exceptions that could be used to legitimately innundate Microsoft with support issues that will drive them from this type of scheme. While the fingerprint change won't force the reactivation, a reformat does on the new Win2K. ANY reinstall requires a new activation key.

Not at all - assuming you aren't still using that activation key. He'd just call MS and be done with it. Once I have the activation key for my hardware How many people would be willing to risk purchasing software that they may not be able to use? I guess if the price were low enough to offset the risk then

To clarify, when I was talking about an activation key, this is different to a product key. Once XP has been installed, it will require activation. If you opt to activate over the Internet, this will check with Microsoft whether the product has already been used elsewhere. If it has, it will not activate.
